Before starting your weight loss journey, you need to identify the reasons. Is it for performance or body image? Too often view our bodies based on a sense of duty or the idea that “I don’t look like a positive type of athlete.” Sure, he was worried about a particular body image, but he just wanted to be a faster, fitter rider. So, focus on tracking performance.
Start with Goals
My goal was to be fast plenty to survive a local relegation, and I used that goal as my decision-making matrix. Will this make me faster? Having a central goal simplifies decision-making when trying to lose weight. If it helps you reach your goal, do it. If not, avoid it.
After setting a goal, associate it with an event. Tying goals to events make them measurable and timely. Often when losing weight, the focus becomes the number on the scale. Your body is unique. Someone else’s healthy weight isn’t optimal for you. Instead, focus on a healthy lifestyle that leads to better performance.

Healthy weight loss takes time and change. Consistency is your greatest ally. Consistent focus helps me analyze what works and doesn’t, allowing me to develop new positive habits. In other words, he didn’t focus on losing weight. Instead, I was committed to a new way of life for the long term.
So, Consistency helps you avoid crash diet cycles. You go crazy, lose weight, burn out, and gain weight again. I’ve been there many times. The worst portion is that not only will you gain weight, but it can ruin your body arrangement. You end up with extra fat and less muscle.
